Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), also known as Formula Student in Europe, is an international engineering competition for University students. The project involves designing, manufacturing, testing, and competing with a formula-style race car. The competitions occur each year and gather thousands of students worldwide.

 

The cars are either combustion or electric and reach power outputs up to 610cc/80kW. Development requires various soft and hard skills tested in competition with static and dynamic events.The teams are tested on their engineering design, the costing of their car as well as the business viability of their operations. The cars compete in different events to test their versatility and overall performance.
