The team recently held an event to celebrate the success of the M08 and to allow our valued sponsors their first ever chance to drive one of the team's cars. The M04, the first car built by the UoA FSAE team, was driven by a number of sponsors who were all thrilled by the experience. The event took place at the Mt Wellington Go Kart track, which was coned-up to better replicate an FSAE style course.

Those in attendance we then treated to a rare sight, the M04 and M08 engaging in a head-to-head pursuit battle. Team member Paul Wood-Stotesbury had a head start of about 15 seconds in the M04, before Ashley Blewett engaged the launch control on the M08, dropped the clutch and took off after him. Both drivers pushed the cars to the limit, an impressive sight for all those watching, with Ashley managing to catch up and pass Paul at the begining of the 5th lap.

Another first was the appearance of all the cars ever built by the team, two of which had been rebuilt, albiet to a show-only state, by team members over the last month. The team would like to thank all the sponsors who attended, and hope those who weren't able to make it will be able to come along to the next event.
