Recently Suspension team have been preparing to replace most of the suspension on the car with the 2011 competition spec parts. We are currently post machining bellcranks, brake discs, carriers, and uprights which will be on the car in the next week. Our carriers this year have a new coating from HPC (Hi-PerCoat) which withstands 260 degrees constant temperature, and 300 degrees intermittent.
We are also making small refinements to the front and rear anti-roll bars. The front will see some new, lighter mounts. At the rear we will be con tinuing with the T bar design, however remaking it to be stiffer than the first iteration. Currently, all suspension components have been pulled off the car so that the chassis could be painted. We are making the most of this opportunity to replace all the fasteners in the suspension, so that they are all competition legal. We are also making refinements elsewhere to make the suspension lighter, with smaller tie rods, smaller rod ends and lighter ARBs. During this time Suspension team is also making sure we have enough spares for competition.
Due to the earlier running of the car this year, we have been able to achieve some valuable Suspension testing. This has highlighted weak points, which have been redesigned and manufactured, and the additional time has allowed us to do some tuning. We look forward to showcasing the 2011 Suspension Package at the Launch night on Tuesday 22nd of November.
